Cowon’s new Q5W PMP looks like it will be a very hot seller come the holiday shopping. If you like the Cowon Q5W that was released in Asia, then you will be happy to know that the spec’s on this American Q5W is essentially the same.
Let’s begin with it’s awesome 5-inch TFT screen. Already, it has a big screen which will come in handy when watching videos or surfing the web. It comes with 800x480 resolution, and a 500:1 contrast ratio. Additionally, it boasts 802.11g/b Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, and runs Windows CE 5.0 OS. It supports many formats including DivX, XviD, MPEG4, WMV7/8/9, MP3, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, Wave, FLAC, APE, and MusePack.
A cool feature that the Q5W comes with is that you can import pictures in the NEF or JPEG format from your camera onto the Q5W. It also comes with component, composite, and S-Video, allowing you to hook up your videos or music to a TV or stereo system. Even with all these great features, you are probably thinking this PMP costs a helluva lot, but the pricing isn’t too bad.
It will be available in 2 models beginning next week, the 40GB and the 60GB costing $549.99 and $599.00, respectively.
