Not that it is a surprise - except perhaps that it wasn’t released out of the gate - AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson was quoted as saying we’ll see the 3G iPhone next year. The faster iPhone will most logically be priced above the current version.
“You’ll have it next year,’’ Stephenson said in response to a question about when the 3G iPhone would debut. He said he didn’t know how much more the new version will cost than the existing model, which sells for $399. Apple Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs “will dictate what the price of the phone is,’’ he said.
Apparently the AT&T CEO was not concerned about leaking the info right before the holiday push to sell more iPhones, calling the amount that could be lost insignificant.
Pure conjecture here: 3G iPhone: $499 and announced at Macworld.
