Asus continues to expand it’s Eee product line with new products beyond the niche ultraportable/netbook market. We’ve heard about the Eee Speaker, the Wii remote-like Eee stick, and now here comes two more products, the Eee TV and the Eee Monitor. Asus has confirmed that both products will come sometime in September. The Eee TV was already displayed at the Asus booth during the recently concluded Computex, while a product spec of the Eee monitor was also seen hanging around in the Asus booth.
While the Eee TV doesn’t seem to be a promising new product, the Eee monitor certainly has a potential to be an alternative to the more expensive Apple iMac. Like the iMac, this Asus monitor also has a built-in computer in its 19 to 21-inch screen along with a built-in TV tuner. It is predicted to come with a price of around $500 which is more than half the price of the iMac’s pricing.
The Asus Eee Monitor is certainly one product that we should all watch out for. We expect to hear more about this from Asus as its September release date approaches.
