SlingMedia announced today that SlingPlayer for Mac is now official. As of today it is out of beta and being released for download as Version 1.0. While SlingPlayer for Mac has been in both private and public beta for a while, I think this release is well worth the wait.
Slingbox owners can stream cable TV, DVR and DVD content from their home directly to their Mac, but this will also give you access to your AppleTV, FrontRow or even an iPod docked in either an Apple Universal Dock or the iPod Hi-Fi. With a wide variety of options this gives you quite a bit of reasons to use the SlingPlayer with your Mac.
SlingPlayer for Mac will run on a PowerPC or an Intel Mac running OSX 10.3.9 or later and is currently available for download here.
