The day after Thanksgiving in the U.S, Black Friday is the official start to the holiday shopping season. All of the major retailers put out ads in the local papers with “doorbuster” discounts, which are commonly products sold at a loss in order to get people into the stores that day. Since it’s one of the busiest shopping days of the year, people dig through the newspapers every week looking for the discounts.
