If you’re heading to this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, then you’re going to want to stop by the WowWee Technologies booth.  In 2009, the company plans to release the newest versions from their WowWee FlyTech line. 

WowWee FlyTech Lightstar flyer has built in LED lights that give it a UFO effect when in flight.  You can control the craft’s altitude and direction with the easy to use remote control.  It can also fly very fast, due to the plane’s lightweight material.  Although it’s light, it has thankfully been designed to be crash resistant, so you won’t have to go out and buy a replacement every time it makes a rough landing. 

The downside: it will not last in flight for very long, about four minutes.  However, charging times are quick and it can fly again after only being on the charger for 10 minutes. 

Another new product from the WowWee FlyTech line is the Hoverpod racer.  This product has better maneuverability than the Lightstar can be controlled to move around obstacles.  It’s made from similar lightweight materials as the Lightstar and also has crash resistant attributes.  This remote control has dual bands, so you can race more than one vehicle at once. 

Both of these products will be available for testing at the Kids Play Tech Zone area of CES.
