Windows Vista’s packaging even makes me feel relaxed

by Adam Berger on Nov 2, 2006 at 04:48 PM

Windows Vista packagingNow don’t you look at this packaging and think of how relaxing it is to be sitting out on your porch staring at the gorgeous vista. The name the packaging and the experience is being played up to deliver this type of environment for Microsoft’s upcoming Windows XP successor. I mean read the marketing straight from the horses mouth:

Designed to be user-friendly, the new packaging is a small, hard, plastic container that’s designed to protect the software inside for life-long use. It provides a convenient and attractive place for you to permanently store both discs and documentation. The new design will provide the strength, dimensional stability and impact resistance required when packaging software today. Our plan is to extend this packaging style to other Microsoft products after the launch of Windows Vista and 2007 Office system.

Update: It seems that Microsoft has also set final release dates for Vista. Business customers will receive Windows Vista and Office 2007 on November 30, while January 30, 2007 is the date for the consumer launch.
