While a 2010-2011 time-frame had been expected as the arrival of Windows 7, it is nice that Microsoft has given their official confirmation that it will arrive in 2010. Up until now the story, thus the expected time frame was based on the initial development time frame of three years. It was just never stated when that three year time period for Windows 7 actually began. Microsoft has since confirmed that it began as of the general release of Windows Vista, which was January 2007. Of course we would all be foolish to expect a Windows 7 release in January 2010, however it does not seem like it would be an issue for 2010, of course anything could happen. According to a Microsoft spokesperson, “the specific release date will be determined once the company meets its quality bar for release.”
