Remember when you bought that PC with the 1.6 GB hard drive and said, “I’ll never fill this up.”  Me too.  Fortunately, hard drive manufacturers are not that short sighted.  Western Digital has announced their newest and largest drive from their Caviar Green family.  And at a whopping 2 TB, it will take a while to fill this one up.

The Western Digital Caviar Green hard drives use 500GB platters.  It is a standard 3.5 inches in size and offers a 32MB buffer.  It comes in USB, eSATA, Firewire, and internal configurations to meet a variety of needs.

Western Digital put in plenty of features to lower power usage, thus the “green” in the name.  The drive will cost $299.  Here’s hoping this drive will last you for a while.
