One of America’s most popular stores, Wal-Mart, said that they are going to allow music downloads without copy-right protection limitations. Without this copy-right protection, people who download the music from Wal-Mart are allowed to use it on whatever PMP device they want. This includes both Apples’ popular iPod and Microsoft’s Zune.
In doing this, Wal-Mart hopes to gain more revenue and compete with Apple’s famous iTunes. Wal-Mart is reportedly going to sell their music for 94 cents per song (compared to iTunes’ 99 cents) and $9.22 per album. Wal-Mart still plans to continue selling the songs with the copy-right protection for 88 cents.
