UMPCs come in lots of shapes and sizes, usually trending toward ugly. This one looks tame and even better (and perhaps more rare), is said to be coming to the US next week.
The Vye Mini sports an Intel A110 800MHz CPU, a nice 1GB RAM, 7 inch Touchscreen, runs Windows Vista, features 5 hours of battery life and it comes with a full QWERTY keyboard.
This UMPC doesn’t come cheap at $1,350, but there is a less expensive version: Vye will offer the Mini with a Geode chip reducing the memory by 50%, but it comes down to an affordable $850.
Whether you opt for 1GB memory or the Geode chip, it still looks like a pretty nice UMPC. September 17 is the expected release date.
