Verizon donates money, free phone service to wildfire victims

Verizon has stepped up and offered support for the victims of the recent California wildfires. Verizon has donated $60,000 to the California Red Cross and have also began offering free calling services for affected customers. The phone service includes calls from cell phones and automatic call-forwarding. In addition to the money and call service they have extra employees working to maintain and restore any problem areas.

Its refreshing to see a company step up and offer support in times of need. Verizon has also offered some advice; similar to other natural disaster situations where they suggest customers to limit phone calls and use text messaging when possible to cut down on network demand.
