Verizon has just announced their new symmetrical 20/20 FiOS service. The 20/20 is referring to 20 Mbps up and also 20 Mbps down, meaning you will be able to download a 250MB file in about 90 seconds or a full 3GB file in about 20 minutes.

“Verizon’s new 20/20 FiOS service blows cable away. Their upload speeds don’t even come close,” said Susan Retta, vice president, Broadband Solutions for Verizon.

Currently the new 20/20 service will be available in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut with support in the works for 13 other states “soon.” Best of all the 20/20 service will be as low as $64.99 a month. In addition to the fast upload and download speeds customers will also get 1GB of network-based backup space with the option to upgrade to 50GB of space at “competitive rates.”
