Upgrade your DVD collection with an upscaling player

by JG Mason on Jul 24, 2007 at 12:56 AM

helios upscaling dvdHelios introduces the H2000 today, an upscaling DVD player that takes your standard DVD and expands the quality to suit your HDTV.  It will support up to 1080i resolution.  What is more, it does so through a variety of connections so you don’t have to go behind the TV to change what is plugged into the HDMI input (many TVs only have one).

This player plays a variety of formats and includes support for VobSub for foreign films.

From the release:

Helios Labs CTO Ron Ping says, “You can let it upscale all your content to 720p/1080i, or you can allow it to output an unprocessed 480i/576i video signal and allow your TV/external video scaler to do the work.  This will help customers maximize its performance and consequently, ensure you have a much clearer, distortion-free image.”

Available August 10th for $99.
