Updated Roku set-top box in the works, will feature 802.11n and USB

I have long had a love hate relationship with my Roku set-top box. I love the device and how simple it was to set up and how simple it is to use. But on the other hand, I have often complained about the lack of available content that it offered. Of course, it was not until I decided to sell my Roku that I truly missed having it.
That said, in hind site it may not have been all that bad that I sold my current Roku because it looks like an updated version is in the works. According to a recent spy shot (pictured here) the updated set-top box has been dubbed the Roku XR (model number N1101) and is going to retain the same look as the original.
Feature wise the Roku XR will see some improvements though, according to the rumors it will see the addition of a USB port as well as Wi-Fi 802.11n. Additionally, the power input was also upped from 1.5A to 2.5A.
As of now there has not been anything mentioned in terms of a release date or price, but it would be nice to see this hit before Christmas, that way I could buy myself a present.

A recent order of the Roku devise was made by myseld on 10/9/09. The advertisement indicated that the devise would be delivered within 5 buisness days. Nine buisness days late still no devise. Attempts at correcting the problem with the Roku staff were made to no avail. Tracking information clearly revealed that the devise had an incorrect address even thought we provided both our mailing and shipping address. With this information the Roku staff directed us to go to the USPS for pick up only to be told that the devise had been shipped back to the sender. Attempts at getting a refund resulted in us being told that we would not get a refund until they received the devise, which we clearly did not have. Moral of the story is DON’T CONDUCT BUISNESS WITH ROKU. They misrepresent, miscommunicate and are very unprofessional. They do not understand the importance of good professional interpersonal communication skills. I don not recommend this product to any one. Just imagine the effort required if you needed addtional assistance once you pruchased the item.

Your shipping issue has happened alot with other people from other companies as well. It’s nothing new. I’m sure your issue will be fixed. Feel free to post in the Roku forum for further help. :-)
Plus the XR model is a rumor right now. A new box won’t be coming soon as the channel store hasn’t even came out yet.
