Toshiba has just updated their Dynabook SS RX1 notebook to include an optional 128GB SSD or a WIN 1x CDMA module, but in a strange twist those options are not available at the same time. If you choose to go with the WIN 1x CDMA module then you will limited to the standard 80GB hard drive. Sounds like a strange deal not being able to have both options, but it is nice to see a large 128GB SSD including in a notebook. In addition to the storage the Dynabook SS RX1 also has a 12.1-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, a 1.2 GHz Core 2 Duo U7600 processor, 2GB of RAM and a claimed battery life of either 6.2 or 12.5 hours, depending on the battery option you choose.
The Dynabook SS RX1 starts at around $4,000 and goes up from there. Sadly as nice as it may sound, with a price like that it seems like an easy pass for us, of course being a Japan only release helps that pass.
