Toshiba recently introduced the TG01 smartphone and from the looks of it, Toshiba appears ready to challenge some other touchscreen-based handsets. Toshiba is referring the TG01 as a device that will “revolutionize the mobile entertainment world.”
To begin with, the TG01 features a large 4.1-inch WVGA 800x480 resistive touchscreen display, but that is not where it stops. Also included in the feature set is built-in 3G support, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, a microSD card slot as well as support for DivX and flash.
Additionally, the TG01 will be powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, which is reported to be “considerably faster than any device on the market.” Finally, the handset will also have 512MB of built-in memory and is running Windows Mobile 6.1.
As for pricing and availability, the TG01 is expected to be released first in Europe during this summer, however the pricing has not yet been announced.
