Toshiba readies 320GB laptop drive

by Chris Marshall on Aug 23, 2007 at 08:17 PM

toshibahd.JPGWith the increased amount of digital media that we are all storing on our hard drives it was inevitable that the Laptop would have to follow the Desktop in increasing the amount of GB’s it offered, but 320GB is large, and significant, increase.

Toshiba will be offering the 320GB drive from the fourth quarter as it expands it range of MKxx52SX 2.5 inch drives. The range will now go from a paltry 80 GB to a massive 320GB which should satisfy the most hardened video addict!

“The 320GB model will contain two platters—the circular disks on which data is recorded. Other drives in the range will offer between 80GB and 250GB of storage space. They will connect via a 3Gbps serial ATA (SATA) interface”

For the “road warrior” that wants to have access to their DVD’s on hard drive, their music and maybe even attach a digital TV tuner to catch their favorite TV while away this is going to be really good news.
