The iFrogz EarPollution’s rock with style
The iFrogz brand of headphones known as EarPollution have found a way to combine comfort, superior sound, and individuality into a price range that can fit any digital DJ or casual listener.
Not since the evolution and introduction of personal listening devices (my term for headphones) has it felt so cool to rock out to your tunes. When given the opportunity to review an item I take it as challenge. I try to squeeze the life out of it and make sure that what you read is as accurate as it can possibly be. My life consists of music, partying, and running around like a chicken without a head. This makes me the ideal person to inform you of EarPollution’s headphone lineup.
Some call me a weekend warrior because while many of you kick up your feet and relax on the couch, you will find me in a car packed full of DJ equipment headed out to rock either a sweet 16, wedding, or mitzvah event. That being said, headphones are as much of a necessary tool of the trade as is my means of transportation.
First Impressions
At first glance all wrapped up in their see-through package I didn’t know what to think. The material didn’t look all to durable, the structural pieces are made of plastic and both the head support and ear pieces are made from a material that feels like patent leather; the whole thing really resembles a child’s toy. I did not want to judge it just from first glance. After all, they are made to be worn and not looked at. They are extremely lightweight which is a nice thing especially if you are planning on listening to your music for a long period of time.
When purchasing headphones, sound quality, clarity and comfort surpasses any other aesthetic element. What EarPollution lacks in its cheap appearance it makes up for in those categories. While they are designed with the DJ in mind, they are, in my opinion, created for those that crave the versatility of plugging into a mixer or mp3 player. The EarPollution input is your standard headphone jack but a quick stop to your electronics store and your ready to plug into a full DJ system.
Listening Experience
The maiden song into my new headphones was a track from will.i.am; his funky style and crazy rhythm was the perfect choice. Music can spark a range of emotions but if you don’t hear every note, enjoy every boom, and let your mind wrap around the message, it is safe to say that your headphones are to blame. Not the case with these. I’m not suggesting that these are some magical headphones that alter your state of mind when listening to your tunes, but they do sound pretty badass.
