In the world of portable media players, the i-Station U43 on the surface looks no different from others of its ilk. But the folks at Digital Cube, with their savvy eye on competition, have found a way to make their new PMP stand out from all the rest.
The fully featured media player comes equipped with High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), which permits higher data transfer speeds and capacity for networks based on the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS). This allows the U43 to connect to the local telecom network for the purpose of downloading multimedia content at the incredible speed of 3.6 mbps.
The U43 is a GPS device and boasts a 4.3-inch WVGA screen and 30 or 60 GB of storage. It supports WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) connectivity, and runs on Windows Mobile CE 5.0. Some of its other features include a dictionary, translator and subtitle functionalities.
Digital Cube is still not taking a breath, and is currently working on another innovation; a new model with similar functions but with even more enhanced connectivity, which can be used for stock trading! (Now you can blame your PMP for a bad stock day instead of your broker!)
The price of the new i-Station U43 is about $481, which makes it just a little more expensive than most PMP/PND devices currently on the market.
