The end has come for Amp’d Mobile
Amp’d Mobile has had more than their fair share of trouble lately and it seems the end has finally come. According to a new FAQ on the Amp’d website they are “potentially suspending US operations on July 24th”. The FAQ goes on to list what will happen to spell out everything that will be happening to your account. To summarize you can port your number, you will not have to pay an early termination fee, you will have to pay any current balance and you may be able to take your phone as long as your new provider is CDMA.
They also make note that they are currently in discussions with several parties to try to sell Amp’d and perhaps most important is that customer service will not be available after July 23rd. Just a little friendly advise, if you are still an Amp’d Mobile customer then you better switch very soon.

Palm Pre Information & Updates
Palm just introduced their next-gen smartphone, the Palm Pre, and next-gen operating system, Palm webOS. Gadgetell's got the latest Pre and webOS information and news for you right here.

Amp’d made a number of bad bets along the way. I don’t think a high-cost MVNO play has a real shot to succeed. The only poster child is Virgin and their low-end pre-paid play, and even that one has limits in terms of its US growth. More thoughtshere.
