The eco friendly solar hybrid robot lawnmower
Many of the new electronics showcased this year at the CES in Las Vegas are focused on the need to start using less energy and relying on natural resources. One of the many eco friendly products includes the Husqvarna Automower Solar Hybrid.
This mower is outfitted with solar panels and does not rely on oil or gas to operate. Instead it combines electricity and solar energy to create a fully functional robotic lawn mower. When the mower is exposed to the sunlight, it has a longer battery life due to the solar cells built into the gadget. Another environmental perk? The lawnmower is completely emissions free.
Besides being environmentally friendly, the Husqvarna Automower Solar Hybrid has an on board navigation system. You simply place a wire below the ground and the mower will know where to cut. If the mower runs into a potential obstacle while cutting the lawn, it simply backs up and moves into another direction. Once finished, it returns to its base and recharges until needed again. You can set the timer to choose when you want the mower to cut your grass.
The one downside? The price. Expect to pay close to $3000 to own one of these machines.
