Telmap has confirmed that it will be providing its ‘market-leading’ navigational technology to Boost Mobile for their new product, Boost Navigator, that is scheduled to be released later this month. Developed on the Boost DEN and CDMA handsets the Boost brand will feature prominently.

The application features both driving and walking directions on a ‘turn by turn’ basis through a combination of voice, graphic and text-based instructions - perfect, say, for finding your way home on a late Saturday night!

“Having a Boost-branded GPS navigation application is a top priority for us because mobile navigation is very popular with our customers,” said Craig Thole, Boost Mobile Director of Value-Added Services.  “Partnering with Telmap enabled us to shape the application to our demographic while keeping consistent with our brand experience.”

Adding value to the service is free store, map, restaurant, and nightclub information on a text based service which will even pick up most misspelled words - again perfect for the Saturday night stagger home.

Available as a pre-pay option or as part of the existing packages no prices are available yet, but this is a great example of the emerging applications for the mobile market place, and is a natural and useful combination of technologies.
