T-Mobile’s Sidekick 3 is alive and kicking

Sidekick 3

Engadget is reporting that T-Mobile and Danger (the makers of the Sidekick) are going to be officially announcing the new, highly anticipated Sidekick 3—not Sidekick III, they were very clear about that. The tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE model will measure in at 130 x 59 x 21.8mm and weigh in at 6.7 ounces. IT has a 240 x 160 pixel, 65,000 color display, trackball, is Bluetooth 1.2 capable, has a 1.3 megapixel digital camera w/LED flash, miniSD memory card slot (supports up to 2GB), has 64MB of SDRAM/64MB Flash internal memory, and includes music player software.

Overall this seems to be a general improvement over the previous model. Danger has gone ahead and added expected functions and features such as a better camera, Bluetooth 1.2, and lightened the load. The trackball seems like a nice surprise, but we have not received any hands on impression yet so that is still tbd.

Until we get to touch and feel, let your mouths water.
