T-Mobile sweetens prepaid deal
![]()
Imagine a life without early cancellation difficulties, hidden charges, annual contracts, unresponsive support, surprise fees, and monthly bills…is this cell phone heaven? With prepaid packages getting better and better, ‘heaven’ is certainly within reach.
T-Mobile recently announced new developments in their prepaid plans, including unlimited nationwide calling from 7pm to 7am.
Prepaid is perfect for casual cell phone users such as the elderly or with children who are just learning how to control their spending. With no credit checks, swollen carriage fees, and absolute control over your cell phone allocation, it is now easier and more economical to go for prepaid plans.
T-Mobile’s Sidekick package even includes features popular with young people such as instant messaging, web browsing, e-mail, access to desktop interface, personal information management sync (Contacts, To Do, Notes, Phones), and access to T-Mobile’s Download Fun catalog.

This is a deal? Maybe folks should check out Virgin Mobile’s offering. I pay 18 cents a minute period for phone time and 5 cents for each text message/email sent/received. And, since I signed up for automatic refill, I am charged only $15 a quarter (that’s $5 a month), unless of course I use more time than that (which I never have). Moreover my unused dollars/time rollover indefinitely as long as I add at least $15 every 3 months. Virgin Mobile is a reseller of Sprint service. This may or may not be good for kids (though that is clearly their target; just take a look at their website); but for people like me who just want a cell phone available for the occasional call it is wonderful.
