It seems that the idea of a flashlight with a built-in digital video recorder may be catching on, just recently we saw the Japanese made AD-1500, which looks strikingly similar to this latest model, however this one is the FlashlightDVR and is being offered up by Swann Communications.
The FlashlightDVR is a working flashlight that also includes a working video camera. The flashlight has about 128MB worth of internal memory, and has an SD card slot for additional memory. The video records in MPEG-4 format, and an SD card that will hold 3 hours worth of video at 30 fps, in full VGA resolution.
The flashlight has a super bright 17 bulb LED flashlight, and has IR night vision that allows the user to see up to 13 feet in the dark.
Swann recommends this flashlight for many uses, including camping and those involved in security. I can easily see it as a requirement for night watchmen. After all, these people are constantly in situations where they need some footage of what happened in case an incident occurs.
You should be able to purchase the Flashlight DVR from Swann Communications for about $499 on the Swann website.
