Sony Ericsson rolls out the C510, W508 phones

With all the new phone announcements during CES, Sony Ericsson does not want to be left behind as it made an announcement about two upcoming mobile phones - the C510 aka Kate phone and the W508 Walkman phone.

When making these two phones, Sony Ericsson made sure that both will have distinguishing features that would make them stand out from the rest of the Sony Ericsson mobile phones.  Hence, we have the C510 with its Smile Shutter technology which according to Sony Ericsson is their first mobile device to have that feature, and the W508 Walkman phone which comes with eight interchangeable Style-Up covers and the SensMe feature which matches users moods to the music and touch keys for playing, stopping and skipping tracks.

Being under the Cyber-shot phone series, the Sony Ericsson C510 features a 3.2 megapixel camera with smile shutter technology, auto-rotation, face detection, photo fix for adjusting light balance, auto focus, quick access to YouTube, as well as a pre-installed application called the HP Snapfish which can be used for sending photos to Snapfish for photo printing.

The C510 also allows you to do picture blogging, video blogging and video recording.  Other features of the C510 Cybershot phone include Bluetooth connectivity, location-based services such as Google maps and geo-tagging, FM radio, and other standard Sony Ericsson mobile phone features which you should probably know by now.

The Sony Ericsson W508 Walkman phone is geared for the fashion conscious mobile phone users who treat their phones as part of their fashion statement. But aside from this, the W508 also features Shake and Gesture Control and Track ID.  The former lets users control the Walkman function through a flick of the wrist.  It also features TrackID for searching information of specific tracks and PlayNow which offers various ways by which users can enjoy downloadable content on their mobile phone. Other features of the W508 Walkman include a 3.2 megapixel camera, 1GB Memory Stick Micro, a 2.2-inch internal screen, and a Monochromatic OLED, scratch-resistant external screen.

The Sony Ericsson C510 Cybershot is a GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100 phone and slated for release anytime this quarter in Future Black and Radiation Silver color varieties.  While the Sony Ericsson W508 which will be available in the second quarter of 2009 supports HSDPA 850/1900/2100 and EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 networks.  It will be available in Metal Grey and Poetic White.
