SLR-styled Finepix S2000HD brings HD photos to Fujifilm’s digital camera line

by Arnold Zafra on Aug 12, 2008 at 10:21 PM

Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD

The last of the latest Fujifilm digital cameras introduced by Fujifilm is the SLR-like S2000HD digital camera. This power-packed point-and-shoot features a 10-megapixel 1/2.3” CCD, a 15x wide-angle optical zoom and a 2.7-inch wide-view LCD. According to Fujifilm, this new camera is well suited for amateur photographers who want an affordable step-up camera.

Aside from these high-end features, what makes the Finepix S2000HD stand out is is capability to capture movies at HD quality (1280 x 720) in true widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio with distortion-free full screen playback. Of course, you’d also get the usual digital camera features that Fujifilm offers in its other digital camera models including dual image stabilization, face detection with automatic red eye removal, manual photographic control, high-speed continuous shooting, one-touch instant zoom, zoom bracketing and 13 pre-programmed scene modes. The S2000HD supports SD/SDHC media card and can take 400 shots per battery charge.

With an expected retail of $299.95, the Finepix S2000HD will be available sometime in September.
