Skype may be coming to the PSP

According to Quick Jump, Skype could be making it’s way to the Playstation Portable in the foreseeable future. They went searching in the PSP’s encrypted firmware (Firmware 3.10) and found traces that some form of VoIP functionality will be enabled soon.
According to Quick Jump:
“Checking the dump, there was no actual PRX by that name which means that the actual functionality is still being worked upon at this stage. And I don’t think anyone’s bluffing either. There have already been cases of Camera, GPS, and POPS PRXes being in the firmware long before the functionality was opened up. In the case of Camera and GPS, references can be found as far back as Firmware 2.70. POPS references were found in Firmware 2.80 dumps.”
This could be very interesting, I’m not sure how many would use Skype if it was on their Playstation Portable, but it seems like an interesting concept - possibly replacing a cellphone for some who carry their PSP around with them religiously.

cool now all we need is something that vibrates to let us know that other people around us have PSP. Maybe even having a profile and stuff that shows what games people are interested in playing etc. Skype would be pretty cool an Ipod HDD adapter is something else that would make it worth having.
