Silverlight plus Netflix?

Netflix silverlight demoWell that didn’t take long for Microsoft’s Silverlight to get things rolling…We are getting a report now from MIX07 that Netflix’s Neil Hunt is showcasing a Silverlight based player for on-demand movies. Watching the video (see below), the UI is impressive, most impressive.

And it was built in 3 weeks. And it is cross platform (pc/mac).

The player adds functionality from Netflix site, adding to que, similar movie,  shared viewing with buddies while IM’ing crude jokes back and forth, and gives the studios invisible piracy protection.

Speeds are impressive and getting to HD quality (720p) in the near future.  What is not to love?
