Shure is releasing two different models of USB mics, the PG27USB and the PG42USB. Both mics will provide professional sound quality, the ability to monitor the sound on the computer and adjust the audio. The main difference between the two models is that the PG42USB provides a tailored frequency response that can reduce vocal nuances. The Shure microphones will retail between $199.99 to $249.00 depending on whether you choose the PG27USB or the more expensive PG42USB.
Another new product that will debut in 2009 from Shure is the Shure X2u XLR to USB Signal Adaptor. You can use this device to connect any XLR microphone to your computer using an available USB port. This device has many similar features of the USB microphones, including integrated pre-amp, zero latency monitoring, headphone jack and monitor mix control. Expect this product to retail for $129.
