You can easily create music on computers.  However, it’s important to have a good pair of headphones so you can hear you are doing to create excellent audio.  Shure just introduced three new sets of headphones, the SRH240, the SRH440, and the SRH840.

The SRH240 is a low cost (under $60) pair of headphones and Shure claims that the “SRH240 reproduces full bass with detailed highs.”  If you’re willing to spend $100, there’s the SRH440, which is collapsible and is meant for mixing consoles.  The SRH840 is Shure’s top of the line “Professional Monitoring Headphones” at $199.99 Obviously, these are meant to reproduce sound in the truest form possible.  These are also collapsible for portability.  Since all of these headphones are meant for critical listening, they are designed to be very comfortable for long listening periods.

These headphones will be available later this summer.  I’ve had the opportunity to test Shure’s in-ear-headphones and microphones and they usually make quality products.  I am curious to see how these new headphones perform.
