Say goodbye to buying digital items off eBay

by Natesh Sood on Apr 6, 2008 at 12:01 AM

eBay finally has decided to ban the auctioning of anything that is digital. This means, anything such as eBooks, MP3 files, content in PDF format, recipes, etc., will not be sold on eBay anymore. Also, anything that can be shipped to a customer by email or a download link will also be not tolerated. In case you still want to sell digital items, you will have to sell it by using classified ads, which would cost about 9.95 a month on their site.

One of the main reasons leading eBay to follow through with such an action was that anything digital could basically be reproduced as many times as the person wants. Thus, the person could keep on re-selling the digital item and keep making more money. Then, it would mess up listings and the feedback system. What is your opinion on eBay getting rid of digital goods?

Digital goods and items can’t be trace and there are more and more charge back or temple hold with paypal. So this means more work for ebay’s workers. So it closed the digital item trading.

We need to start a class action suit against how ebay is handling this new policy.
seems some people are being targeted and shut down while others continue to list digital items. We are looking for more people to come forward with their stories so may get a class action lawsuit off the ground.
from the out side it looks like they continue to let the big sellers do it whilst the smaller ones all have their heads cut off.
if your enforcing a policy there needs to be clear rules and the policy needs to cover all people not just some.

I just read some breaking news that there is another BAN going on!

Users of eBay, all accross the world, have been raging a HUGE BAN on eBAY and have not been using the site any more since the new regulations on Feedback, Digital Deliveries, and other problems with the out of control California Based Company.

Users are simply plain “FED UP” and have finally ALL COME TOGETHER to agree to not to use the site.

Reports have indicated, so far, the eBay SALES HAVE DROPPED OVER 35% and THEIR STOCK PRICE IS FALLING Rapidly.  Some predict, that if users stick together in this ban, that eBay will drop drasticly as a major player in the market.

News also reports that other sites activities, such as Amazon, Click Bank and others have increased and some new arrivals have come and that the weakened eBay may finally be able to be overtaken by a NEW and BETTER PLAYER in the market!

Its all about COMPETITION in the marketplace.  eBay is NOT the only marketplace, said one expert, and the marketplace will correct itself!
