Sanyo Xacti full HD camcorders

Well what do you know?  One of the gadgets in my Christmas Wish List (which I didn’t get) just rolled out five new models.  How I wish I was in Tokyo right now to get a first taste of any one of these camcorders.  I’m talking about the Sanyo Xacti camcorder.  Sanyo Japan has just launched five new models of the Sanyo Xacti and all five of them record full HD.

The five new models of the Sanyo Xacti dual cameras are the Xacti DMX-FH11 and DMX-HD2000 which are both HD 60p cameras, the waterproof DMX-WH1 and DMX-CA9, and the ultra-compact DMX-CG10.

Of course, we don’t have to tell how good the Sanyo Xacti camcorders are.  You just have to dig into Gadgetell’s archives to find out our coverage of the Xacti E2, DMX-HD800 and the HD1010.  But for the benefit of those who may have overlooked this cool camcorder line from Sanyo, here’s a quick rundown of the features of these new camcorders.

The Sanyo Xacti DMX-CA9 and DMX-WH1

Both these cameras’ bodies are waterproof and were tested to withstand being submerged in water.  In addition to their waterproof features, the DMX-CA9 also boasts a 9 Megapixel resolution, reverse sequential photo shooting function, motion correction, face chase function, and a recording time of up to 200 minutes.  While the DMX-WH1 has a 30x optical zoom aside from sporting the same features as the DMX-CA9.

The Sanyo Xacti DMX-HD2000 and DMX-FH11

The next two new Sanyo Xacti camcorders, DMX-HD2000 and DMX-FH11, support progressive full HD movies and feature a 8 Megapixel camera, reverse sequential shooting, real-time interpolation technology for extended 12-Megapixel resolution,16x advanced zoom,  high-speed video recording at 240fps/600fps for slow-motion playback, 8GB built-in memory, and a 32GB SDHC memory card support.

The most notable feature of these two camcorders is their capability to record smooth videos and movies, thanks to their smooth progressive video capturing feature.  In addition, Sanyo claims the HD2000 is also an energy-efficient camcorder with a notably longer battery life.

The Sanyo Xacti DMX-CG10

The last of the new Xacti camcorders announced by Sanyo is the DMX-CG10 which is also capable of recording HD movies and photos up to 10-Megapixel resolution.  This camcorder supports the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video compression format and real-time interpolation technology.  In addition, it also features digital noise reduction, motion correction, and face-chaser functions. It has a 3-inch LCD monitor despite having a small form factor.

Pricing and international release dates for these Xacti camcorders are not yet available.  But for our friends in Japan, the DMX-HD2000 is scheduled for release on February 6, while the rest of the new Xacti models will be released in the following months.
