Samsung’s 2007 HDTV lineup swings three ways, LCDs, DLP, and Plasma
Samsung has announced a slew of new LCD, DLP, and Plasma TVs here at CES.
The LCD lineup spans from 40” to 19” models, all with USB 2.0. The 53/54 designer series of LCD HDTVs add style and feel to home decor with glossy piano black or pearl white finishes. They have 7000:1 contrast ratios, 8ms response time, a RS232 port for navigating MP3 player content on-screen with the LCD remote, 3 HDMI connections (2 rear, 1 side), and an improved color reproduction. Models will be available in March 2007 for $2299 (40"), $1699 (32"), $1299 (26"), $849 (23"), and $529 (19"). The 23” LN-T2354H ($849) and 19” LN-T1954H ($529) models are available with pearl white bezel.
While most manufacturers dropped DLP TVs from their product line, Samsung has released three new models. The HL-T6187S, HL-T5687S, HL-T5087S are 61”, 56”, and 50” Slim LED DL™ Rear Projection HDTVs. They have replaced the color wheel with LEDs and improved response time and have an long life lamp (approximately 20,000 hours), 1920 x 1080 (1080p) resolution, integrated HDTV ATSC/QAM tuners, 3 HDMI inputs, WiseLink (USB 1.1) with Picture Viewer and RS-232C input to browse photos or MP3s on-screen. They are 3D ready and have a turn-on time of 10 seconds. There are no prices or release dates announced for these models.
