Samsung to introduce S3500 handset soon

by Emily Price on Jan 31, 2009 at 11:39 AM

Samsung S3500Samsung is expected to introduce its new entry-level sliding handset, the S3500 soon.  The quad-band GSM handset would be under the companies Anycall brand in European and Asian markets and would feature a 320x240 screen resolution, 2-megapixel camera, digital audio playback capabilities, and a built-in FM tuner.

The phone is expected to have 35MB of internal memory that users can transfer audio files to the device on via USB, but it will also have microSD expansion so you can add addition tracks that might not fit on the internal memory supplied with the phone.

The handset will also inevitably make it’s way to the United States once it is approved by the FCC and is able to support the 850MHz band.

While not a particularly impressive handset, it’s nice to see the bottom level of cell phones start to improve.  Samsung describes this one as “entry-level” and it’s packed with a ton of features we previously wouldn’t have seen on even the highest end cell phones.

No word yet on pricing, or when we’ll see the phone start to hit the markets either in the United States or overseas.
