Need another reason to purchase a PS3 (besides the super cheap Blu-ray player, it essentially costing the same as an Xbox 360, or the other very good reasons)? How about the weekend challenge of loading Windows XP onto your machine? It already has an awesome photo viewer, plays movies, accesses the internet, now you can run your favorite OS as well. The video is pretty long, but what else are you doing today?

on November 26, 2006 at 11:02 PM - LINKWell, the 360 beats the ps3 clearly in the vid card section of life. yet the ps3 takes over when it comes to harnessing the RAM power and processing power. In the end, the 360 will have better graphics in small areas, yet the ps3 will be able to render more things smoothly with better framerates. Im not a fanboy of either, cuz i own both, and both systems have there pros and cons.

I can accept that on propiarity ware you can’t run things fast but. ...
I got a PIII wich runs linux faster..

I work with this stuff and have examined both systems, and am not a fanboy.
The PS3 can pump and process much more than the Xbox, yet it may not now. But when they figure out how to use it, well it should be amazing
The Ps3 holds almost a twice as powerful cell/processor w/e than the xbox

ps3 haters i allready owned 3 xbox360s cause they broke microsoft put out first to fast to get a lead on console war but in fact they are allready taking efforts to make a new xbox360 code name zephyr with hdmi just to keep up how can you trust microsoft windows crashes all the time people buy the 360 just for halo its amazing im sure any console could make one good game.
on January 23, 2007 at 07:15 PM - LINKAs far as the Windows OS goes, then in the form of a Media Center it would be ideal to have it on the PS3 so more formats are playable..
But then again you can put vlc player on linux OS. So its more to do with it having a better gui. which makes it look more appealing.. Plus networking will be easier..

However, give the PS3 the upgrade it needs and there’s no looking back. PS has always been at least 3 steps ahead. wait until it reaches full potential
