Asus recently made some announcements in Germany and Austria regarding the Eee PC and made a very nice comment to the press regarding the Asus 8G. Originally it was stated that the 4G and 8G Eee PC’s would both be shipping with a 7-inch display, now its looking like the 8G will be given a nice upgrade and include a 10-inch display.
Asus is planning to include a 10-inch display in the 8G model and still keep the overall dimensions the same as the 4G. With the spare room around the current 7-inch it seems the larger display will fit in perfectly.
I have been considering an Eee PC purchase lately but have held off due to the small 7-inch display, now I think I will wait to see some further information on the 8G. Currently there has not been any release date announced, the 8G is expected to retail for $399.
