RIM rumored to have begun work on BlackBerry OS 6.0

by Sue Walsh on Feb 4, 2010 at 08:46 AM

BlackBerry Curve The rumors are flying that RIM has begun working on their BlackBerry OS 6.0. No details, but you can bet BlackBerry lovers are hoping for something truly groundbreaking. Tour owners however, would be happy if 5.0 was finally released. That’s not RIM’s fault though. 5.0 is done and was sent to the carriers. It’s now up to them as to when it’s pushed to customers. If I were to guess as to why they are dragging their feet I’d say it has to do with sales. They would rather customers have to buy a new phone to get 5.0. Since RIM is also working on 5.2 and intends to release it later this year, it’s a safe bet the carriers will finally release 5.0!
