Panasonic has announced a couple of new cameras in its Lumix product line. One of these new cameras is the DMC-FX150 offering a 14.7-megapixel CCD sensor and a Leica branded 3.6x optical zoom lens with a 28mm wide angle. It is packed with a 2.7-inch LCD display in 230,000 dot resolution, a multi-area focus sytem with face detection and object tracking, and ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 1600 and shutter speeds that range from 1/2000 to 60 seconds.
In addition to all those features, Panasonic has also sprinkled the DMC-FX150 with a slew of camera technology features that would give photo enthusiasts an easy and pleasant time using the camera. These include image stabilization, automatic exposure control using intelligent multiple, center-weighted or spot metering. It also features nine white balance settings, and twenty five scene modes.
Aside from taking decent quality images, the DMC-FX150 can also capture high definition movies of up to 1280x720 pixel resolution, with sound. Just be prepared with your high-capacity media card though, as the camera uses the QuickTime Motion JPEG type video format which eats up huge amount of storage space.
Other features of the DMC-FX150 include SD/MultiMediaCards/SDHC media support, built-in 50MB internal memory, USB 2.0 connectivity, NTSC video output, high-def component video output, and it comes with a 1150mAh Lithium Ion battery that gives out 330 shots before re-charging.
This camera will be available sometime in August with a retail of around $400.
