Panasonic has just released information on the upcoming release of the DMP-B15, the world’s first portable Blu-ray disc player.  Included with the DMP-B15 will be almost a nine inch LCD screen, Internet access and a SD memory card slot.  The only catch is that don’t expect to get the DMP-B15 for a steal; currently the player is priced at $799.95.

Panasonic combined many of the features of their other Blu-ray players and added them into the DMP-B15.  Panasonic is also including Viera Cast functionality into the player in order to use the player to access select websites.  These websites include Amazon’s Video On Demand service, YouTube, Google web albums, and weather channels.  You can access the Internet through the built in LAN port on the portable Blu-ray player.  The battery of the DMP-B15 will be able to hold a charge for about two and a half hours.

The Panasonic DMP-B15 is expected to be released some time this month and is available for pre-order through numerous online electronics retailers, such as PriceBreak.com.
