Panasonic adds to its Lumix digital camera series

Digital camera enthusiasts who are fans of the Lumix series will be glad to know that Panasonic has just launched three new camera models - the DMC-LS85, DMC-FS7, and DMC-FS15. These new Panasonic cameras are packed with nifty features that would surely please photo enthusiasts especially those who are just getting into the digital camera hobby. And take note, all three cameras come with affordable prices at the sub-$200 level.
Cheapest among these new digital cameras is the 8.1-megapixel Panasonic DMC-LS85 which can be powered by two regular AA batteries. Available in silver, black and pink, the DMC-LS85 features a stylish and compact factor, small enough that you can bring them anywhere. This point-and-shoot features a decent 4x optical zoom and an F.28 LUMIX DC Vario lens. It also has an Intelligent Auto Mode (iA) which features Mega O.I.S., Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection, and Intelligent ISO Control functions. The iA mode features Quick Auto Focus system which would allow users keep the camera on focus with a subject even if the camera’s shutter button is pressed down halfway.
Other key features of the Panasonic DMC-LS85 include video recording at 30fps in WVGA (848x480) format as well as in VGA (640x480) format, a 2.5-inch LCD, and 50MB internal memory.
The other two digital cameras which were introduced by Panasonic are the DMC-FS7 and DMC-FS15. The DMC-FS7 is a 10.1-megapixel shooter equipped with an F2.8 DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens with optical zoom and iA mode as well. While the DMC-FS15 is a 12.1-megapixel point-and-shoot equipped with a 29mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom.
Similarly with the two previously mentioned cameras, the DMC-FS15 also features the iA Mode. In addition, the DMC-FS15 also features AF Tracking system which would be most helpful when shooting moving subjects since it can lock the cameras focus to those subjects. This camera also has an Intelligent Exposure which should suppress blocked shadows and brown highlights while at the same time continuously monitoring light sources. Once it detects that the light source is behind a subject, the Intelligent Feature would automatically activate the camera’s backlight compensation function.
The Panasonic DMC-LS85, DMC-FS7, and DMC-FS15 will retail for $119.95, $159.95, and $199.95 respectively. All three cameras are slated for a March-April release in the U.S market.

I love the way these cameras look! I was shopping for a new camera over the holidays and found some great deals on the Lumix camera on this site:
http://www.zingsale.com
It’s a free service that tracks prices of products from online stores (like amazon) and sends you an email when the price drops. I also used it over holidays to save on a new GPS for the car
