ooVoo allows you to email face-to-face

by Adam Berger on Jun 15, 2007 at 11:20 AM

ooVoo video conferencing calling streamingWhat are these letters? ooVoo is the next step in online communication - a way to have a face-to-face video conversation with friends, family or colleagues, no matter where they are in the world. Face-to-face conversations are in high-quality video and audio,
making mere talk, email or chat a thing of the past. Yeah there is iChat, Skype and others, but ooVoo has a whole list of features the other programs don’t have. These include the ability to talk one-on-one or with up to 6 people at a time, leave a voice, video or text message if there is no answer to your call, concurrently send files and text messages, choose ringtones, see missed calls, record and send a video message to as many people as you want as well as download the clip to your PC, and save video drafts.

Video phones never really took off (though they are making a comeback with 3G cellular networks and dual-camera phones). Can video email be the next big thing? If there is one thing helping ooVoo and others, it is that the current offering is free.

Try it [ooVoo]
