NXP and Purple Labs unveil Purple Magix Linux-based cell phone

NXP and Purple Labs are showing off their latest handset, a Linux-based 3G capable phone. The Purple Magic will offer video telephony, video streaming, music playback and high-speed Internet browsing. The Purple Magic phone’s design is based on the NXP Nexperia Cellular System Solution 7210. Given the phone design and Purple Labs Linux suite they will be able to offer this as a fully integrated turn-key solution and is expected to be available for less than $100. The phone also appears to have a nice clean design. The Purple Magic phone is expected to be shown off at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
