The $100 PC has received a bit of inflation, now expected to sell for $130. Remember this laptop/tablet convertible unit will be sold in 3rd world countries, directly to governments and large organizations. Nicholas Negroponte recently showed off the latest prototype. The unit weights 2 pounds, runs on Linux, can convert to a tablet, will have a anti-reflective screen so it can be read outdoors, and built in USB ports, RAM, etc. Negroponte expects to reach the $100 price point by the end of 2008.
