Cheers to those Linux users, as Novell is going to be releasing the successor of Linux 10, which is the SuSE Linux Enterprise 11. Sadly, Novell has only released some details at this point, but look on the bright side, at least it’s going to be released. Novell stated that, SuSE Linux Enterprise 11 will work on a vast variety of products such as edge and infrastructure servers, to data centers and servers.
This platform will be created as an appliance. Novell said the new release will aim to harmoniously integrate mixed-IT environments. Novell outlined a broad focus for the SuSE Linux Enterprise release which includes supporting appliance development in the data center, helping customers looking for easier UNIX to Linux relocation. Other than that, the leveraging of Xen technologies to deliver virtualization, which will help realizing the benefits of green IT and increasing technology for Windows optimization.
As for the “small” release of information, Novell stated that the company is still gathering a wide range of software and hardware partners and ISVs for the project. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope for a big surprise.
