There may be more women hearing that than you think.  A recent survey conducted by Impulse Research for Energizer asked 1,000 men between the ages of 24-35 what they’d do if they had to choose between their smartphones and their significant others.  An amazing 14% said they’d drop their girlfriend or wives in an instant if asked to choose.  An additional 30% said they’d have to “think about it.” 

You have to wonder what would make a man prefer his phone to his woman.  Is it because the phone doesn’t nag?  Seems to me that push mail does just that..as soon as you get an email you’re alerted and nagged via flashing led, vibration or alert until you read it, so that can’t be it.  Maybe it’s because phones don’t have a “honey do” list?  Well I don’t know, but that to do list on your phone looks pretty long to me.

I know - it’s because you don’t have to spend lots of money on it!  Oh wait..what about the fancy ringtones, the premium games, expensive leather case and oh yeah, the all you can eat data plan?  Why in the world then would any sane man choose his smartphone over his wife or girlfriend?  I guess it’s because he’s just not very smart himself.

Fear not, however.  56% of the survey respondents said they’d choose their significant others over their phones any day.  Now that’s more like it!
