Nintendo has just upgraded the Wii’s Internet Channel which is now powered by the full Opera Web Browser and has 2 search engines preinstalled. Wii gamers will now experience response time and new options. The new Opera browser will be available for download for free until 30th June 2007, and after that, it will still be available for download for a charge of 500 Wii points or $5.  Opera had tweaked its browser to make it suitable for Wii users. The only irritation that users will have is the need to enter the address one letter at a time. The new browser has an added favourites feature or bookmark that will solve this problem. By saving the links as favourites, it can be easily access by the Wii remote.

The best feature will be enabling users to use a TV to view web contents. The software also includes a zoom feature which enlarges images or text to the user’s liking. There is also a feature supporting multiple cursors, and the primary Wii remote can be used to control web action while the other remote can be used to point to other content on the page.  Ready to get a Wii yet?
