New PS3 firmware v2.0 update leaked
Many grievances have been made about Sony’s 600 dollar gaming behemoth, largely about lack of features for it’s high price range. Get ready naysayers, because that might change soon. Sony, perhaps accidentally, spilled all the details of their firmware update 2.00 for the PlayStation 3.
By far, the biggest feature will be the ability to access the XMB (XrossMediaBar, like the 360’s blades) whilst playing a game. Additionally, many other smaller features have been added, such as an RSS Channel section and an Energy Saver option.
These features should have been included at launch, because with all the processing power the machine totes, viewing the main menu during a game should be a relatively simple task. Better late than never.

OMG!!!
Now it might be worth buying one…It’s a great system but the constant freezing and lack of PS2/PS compatibility has been very discouraging.
I might have to add one to go next to my Wii…lol

on September 22, 2007 at 11:43 PM - LINKYa i would like to have an update like this. Having a 360 and seeing how somethings on it (like being able to play music while playing games, or just viewing who is online) run just fine while playing a video and the PS3 lacking is it discouraging but i know that they would like to be original and not “rip off” of microsoft. But hopefully this rumor is true, i like the ps3 more but some of the 360 features are what makes me play it more… that and no one i know in real life has a ps3 just 360’s /sigh
on October 1, 2007 at 08:36 AM - LINKThis is cool and everything, it really is, having this features on the PS3, and i really can’t wait. But i feel that what Sony really needs to be concentrating on is, getting some third party exclusive’s on the Playstation 3 because in the end its the games that make a console, not what features it supports.
