Navigon announces the new 2120 Max [Updated]

by Natesh Sood on Mar 5, 2008 at 05:01 AM

Navigon 2120 Max

At CeBIT 2008, Navigon announced the Max Series which contained two GPS units, the 2100 and the 2120. Overall they are pretty similar except that the 2120 comes with maps of the United States and Canada where the 2100 only comes with maps of the 48 contiguous states. Otherwise, they are basically the same feature wise.

I’ll give you a rundown of the features; the 2120 still sports the same screen size of 4.3-inches that is also widescreen. It comes with pre-installed maps and also has the option to subscribe to the new Fresh Maps service. One of the weird things about this GPS is that it doesn’t come with Bluetooth, which almost all GPS units have nowadays. It also comes with text-to-speech, 2D and 3D images, uses a Nemerix NX3 GPS chip, has a 3 hour battery life and only weighs 6.3 ounces.

Similar to the 2100, there is no word on pricing for the 2120 as of yet. Expect these two GPS units to be released basically at the same time but also expect this one to cost a little more as it comes with more maps.

[UPDATE] Per the Press Release for the Navigon 2120 Max, the unit is currently available with sales only in Canada and is retailing for $329 CAD.
